No More Diapers for Sophie!

Sunday, I started the "intense" or "3 day" potty training method with Sophie. Brian was home to take care of Lillie's needs, so I could devote my attention to Sophie on the first day. After Breakfast, the first thing we did, was throw away all of the baby diapers.  Sophie was no longer a baby.  Sophie put the diapers in boxes and we put them on top of the trash can. (When Sophie went down for her nap that afternoon, I put them in the garage sale area.  There were 2 boxes of diapers, I hope to sell them or donate them.)

Next, she put on big girl panties.  Not pull ups.  Pull ups are too similar to diapers.  Part of this program is to get the toddler to drink a lot.  So, she drank a lot of juice boxes the first day.  This encouraged her to fill her bladder and create more chances to use the potty.  After a successful trip to the potty, she got to pick a treat from the treat bucket.  The treat bucket has gummy snacks and M&M's.
There were a lot of accidents the first day and fewer on the second day. By the end of the second day, I could tell that she was starting to recognize the signs.  Today, She was dry all day and only had two poopy accidents.  She has been dry for all 3 naps and 1 of the 2 nights.
